My Brush With Fame (in my opinion)

For those who have ever taken the time to look at my blog roll you may have noticed that I have a link to a blog called The Fat Cyclist.  I highly recommend this blog to anyone who loves cycling and, also, to anyone who doesn’t.  For those who don’t think spandex is a fashion statement, don’t worry, not all the posts are about cycling, actually lately they are more about his family’s battle with his wife’s metastatic cancer that has recently spread to her brain.  He is a brilliant writer and his blog is read around the world. Sometimes there are well over 100 comments on one single post, and he writes daily.  I could go on, but I wont, I’ll get to the point…….This picture is of me (obviously) and Fatty himself.  I met him tonight at the intermountain cup mountain bike race.  I was a little star struck, (Nerdy I know but c’mon I wear spandex, what did you expect) but Aimee did the dirty work for me and tapped him on the arm and told him we are big fans and that I was blushing and hoping to have a picture taken with him. (Thanks for being there for me Aim, I suck)  He was super nice and graciously overlooked my lameness and let me get my picture with him to put in my Disney autograph book right next to the picture of me and Princess Jasmin.  So for all those fellow bike nerds out there, suck on that.  It was awesome and totally made up for the fact that I got my trash kicked during the actual race.

Family Vaca to St. George

aimee| May 24, 2008 12:57 pm

We were lucky enough to be able to take one last family vacation with my family down to St. George. Everyone but Janee and her family were able to come. It was so nice to get away for a couple days and enjoy some hot weather.

We spent one day at Zions. Utah is beautiful! It was perfect weather and Jackson got to show off his hiking skills.

We went on a bike ride up Snow Canyon. Tyler was such a good dad and pulled Jackson in the chariot—Jackson loved it.

We spent a lot of time at the pool. Even though Olivia never got in the pool I had to put her in her cute little swim suit. Jackson was confused why she had her swim suit on if she wasn’t even going to swim.

On Sunday we went on a tour through Brigham Young’s house. As you can tell in the next pic, by the end Jackson was through hearing about church history.

St. George Tri

aimee| May 14, 2008 8:39 am

This last weekend we headed down to St. George so Tyler could participate in the SG Tri.  This is his 3rd year of doing this tri, olympic distance which is a mile swim, 25 mile bike and a 6 mile run.  It is a fun event and a part of me was a little sad not to be doing it with him.  But it’s also fun to be able to sit back and watch every once in a while.   Tyler did great even  though the weather conditions weren’t ideal.  It was extremely windy.  The olympic men start the swim first and as soon as Tyler came out of the water search and rescue called it quits on the swim due to white caps—I was very grateful he was already done.  Here are some pics from the weekend.  Jeremy and Cortney rode down with us (jeremy did the tri as well).  Cortney and I decided to leave the 2 year olds at home and just take the newborns.  They did great, slept the whole time :)  Thank you Daniel and Shante’ for watching Jackson—he had so much fun.

Blessing Day

aimee| May 7, 2008 10:53 pm

Olive was blessed this last Sunday.  Tyler gave a beautiful blessing.  We were fortunate enough to have the majority of both families there. It was a gorgeous sunny day, perfect for our little girl.  Here’s a few pictures of the day—I have a hard time just picking one.

Well our little Olivia is 6 weeks old today.  I can’t believe how fast time goes by.  She is such a sweet little girl.  She’s starting to get her days and nights in order.  The other night she made it all the way to 5:30am—yeah!  That makes me and Tyler very happy.  Jackson is becoming a great big brother.  At times he has a little to much love.  We’ve caught him laying on top of Olivia, squeezing her head in between his hands to give her a kiss and of course picking her up and carting her around the house.  I know every time he has picked her up because he yells “mom I did it”.  He’s really good at picking the best time to be so loving—like right when Olivia has just fallen asleep.  It’s hard to get upset at him when he does these things because he’s doing them out of pure love—at least we think he is.  Even though Olivia takes a little abuse she adores Jackson.  She is so responsive to him and loves to hear his voice.  There is something beautiful about seeing your children interact with each other.  I had no idea how wonderful it was going to be.

This picture is from a couple mornings ago.  The kids were laying in our bed and Jackson tickled Olivia’s face until she fell asleep.  It was pretty cute, plus you’ve got to love Jacksons bed head.  He has also given her a new nickname of Odee.  Were not sure where it came from.
